So that super secret plot we mentioned before! It's right on the horizon. Here's the deets:

Larsa is being bitten by an asp.

But wait, is that really such a big deal? You betcha! With Larsa being the only Solidor alive (as far as the general population knows anyway), and being heirless, its ginormous! Don't worry, we're not quite mean enough to totally kill the cutie off. Yes we are but not this time. Ahem. However, the little emperor will be languishing on death's door for a while. What does this mean for everyone else?

Well. Because asps are desert snakes, the Ministry of Law in Archadia will be cracking down entirely on any "suspect" people. Specifically anyone known or suspected of being from Dalmasca or Nalbina. If you're a desert dweller (or thought to be one), and you are present or travel to Archades, you'll find yourself thrown in the clink until the authorities have ample opportunity to question you regarding nefarious assassination attempts. But they aren't the only ones being held. Anyone possessing a visible grimoire will also be taken into custody for questioning, though they'll only be questioned and not jailed indefinitely. Until Larsa regains consciousness, and he can make decisions regarding how he wishes the investigation to proceed, the arrests will continue. The aerodome will be shut down to all traffic, in or out, of Archades, and guards will be posted at the gate crystal and the city exits to stop anyone coming in or out, until the perpetrator is found. Finding the guilty one will take months, so expect to find travel in or out of the Imperial City difficult in the coming weeks. In fact, if you're not Archadian? Expect to absolutely be given at the least the stinkeye, or at the worst? A stay in their finest jails.

Questions? Ask 'em here! Plotting? Go for it!!

Edit: A little more info since people have been asking on plurk! First, Korik asked a great question about people trying to get into the city over here. So there's that info for referencing.

Additionally, some characters might already be in the city and curious what's going on too. Aside from the cases mentioned above, what about the Archadians? Since the city is full to brimming over with elitist snobs who trade in chops and information, rest assured the streetears will absolutely be looking for any scraps of information why the city guard has suddenly stepped up its game and gotten more visible in the city. Whether or not these information peddlers get the truth or have to rely on rumormongering is entirely based on you the players. The guard won't be knocking up sleeping people in their homes, but if they're out on the streets coming home from a later dinner following a night at the theatre, they'll find their chops being examined. Given that Archadians are notorious for assigning prestige and respectability based on how far up you live in the city, those in the lower levels are far more likely to find themselves under scrutiny than those further up in the city. How severe or lenient the guard happens to turn out is also up for some general wiggleroom. You might find a genuinely earnest and good sort of fellow who just wants to do his job well. You also might get a random jerk who is trying to use this sudden influx of work to angle for getting a promotion by manhandling the foreigners. Plenty of room for everyone to work in.

The Loar Cup is an exciting time for the residents of Fluorgis. The beautiful town of flowers and fountains fills to the brim with clans eager to claim the prize in the tourney, as well as zealous fans and spectators. Merchants take full advantage of the crowds, setting up booths to sell everything from handheld wyrdhare pies to extra weapons.

Ah and the fighters! Eight teams, five rounds of combat. The regional laws forbid the use of items during the combat process, though that often doesn't prevent the occasional cheater tossing back a potion when they suppose no one is looking. Every so often, a team's down a member from injury or illness and recruiting a capable replacement from the audience isn't unheard of at all.

Buy a banner and root for your favorite! Feel free to mingle about and meet some of the familiar faces, or meet some new ones. You'll never know who you might see along the lists.

Have a great March, everyone! Riots and Super Secret Plots are coming! Clan auctions are still live until the 20th, so there's time to bid on territories. Lots of work and hunts up for grabs too.

[personal profile] concordancemods
Hello there everyone! It's time for February's check-in! You all know that this is our version of an activity check, just to see who's still around! But before that, a few pieces of news!

1. We've got lots of things coming out today on the 1st. As always, look for new Hunts and everything over on our commerce community. We have Auctions, Hunts, Rumors and nearly the whole kitchen sink over there! These are little tidbits for your character to enjoy while they are in Ivalice! Use them to the best of your abilities, everyone. You can get some important tidbits.

2. Don't forget! New characters can start closer to towns instead of in the boonies like before. While some of the townspeople might get a bit frightened and angry at a rift opening up inside a town, and the subsequent monster following you in, but sometimes that can't be helped, right?

3. The moogles are still buying all of your defunct phones, crazy future people! So if you've got phones, video spheres, or anything that might resemble a communication device, please comment over here and let us know. The faster the moogles get your tech, the faster we get a network.

Onto the Check-in!

So every month, we'll give players a week to check in with us, let us know they're still around and still interested in the game. No specified amount of required activity, though the mods will be checking to see who's checked in and been active. If we don't see anything from your character, we might poke to ask what's going on, if you're ok, if you needed a hiatus, etc etc. Just let us know what's going on is all we ask.

But wait! There's bonus gifts! This month, when you check in, you will have the option to ask for one of your spells/skills/whatevers from home to be made available to learn from a piece of equipment. So black mages from FFXIV could bring Ivalice the beauty that is Manawall. Optionally, you can choose to unlock one of your character's skills that is currently tied down to a different class. For example, Rydia knows Flare at home, which is an Alchemist spell. Voila, she now owns the license for the spell and can use it outside her class. The third choice is to come into the possession of whatever license you think might be of use to your character, like First Aid or Libra or Gil Toss. This option will be available to any character who submits a thread with 6+ personal comments or a completed log. Completely optional!

So! All we need from you is one comment per character being checked in. If you're unlocking a locked skill/spell, bringing something new, or getting a new license, let us know in the comment, and which one.

Check-In will close at 12:01 a.m. Pacific on March 8th.

As promised, this is a quick timeline of things we have planned in the near future. We've got some new features coming, a use for one of the comms you've been wondering about, and super secret plotsies.

Right now, there are miners on strike in Bhujerba. Anyone looking for work is welcome to cross the picket lines. Understand, the whole point of the strike is the lack of funds to pay wages. However, there are grand promises coming from the Marquis that double pay is coming to those who work during the strike. If you believe him. (Don't listen to Ondore's lies! Basch lives!)

On March 1st, things are gonna get hopping in Concordance. The new month's jobs and hunts will be released as well as new bazaar goods. There's still time to bid on the auctions, buy bargain gear from the bazaars, sign up for work, and take up a hunt or two. Check over at the Commerce community to see what's available currently.

But that's not all! Coming on the 1st, the moogles will be rolling out the v1.0 "skyphone". What's this skyphone you ask? Well they got their hands on a few cell phones from different places, including a few that the sellers called Skyphones. Weird name, but whatever, the moogles can deal with it. They have managed to reverse engineer phones, blending outsider technology with magicite power. Starting on the first, the moogles will begin selling these phones to any sucker person willing to shell out gil for them. The v1.0 Skyphone will only have cellular service. No cameras, no video, no maps. That'll be coming down the pike. And darn, you might have to buy an upgrade. (Look the furry bastards are mercenary, ok?) Anywhere you can find a member of the Cartographer's Guild (which is pretty much everywhere) or a save crystal, you'll be able to find one very pushy salesmoogle offering the finest new gadget that makes finding your friends a snap. Please note, they won't be giving them out for free or handing them to new arrivals. A more formal post about all this will be coming on the 1st when they're live.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! We're also going to see the season's territory auctions for clans. There's still time to declare the formation of a clan, or to join one, before the auctions start. Why do they matter? Fame! Glory! GIL!! Really, it's all about getting special perks like more pay, less fees, better recruits, in the areas your clan has territorial claims on. If you're a member of a clan, or are wanting to form one, please pop over to the Clans page and leave a note about the clan you're in. If you're forming one, let us know the name of the Clan, where their HQ is considered to be, and any PCs who are members.

Not enough to do? March 7th things are really going to heat up in Ivalice. Not in a good way either. Remember those folks angry that Ashe hasn't laid claim to the Nabradian throne yet? Well... it's reached a boiling point for the residents of Nabudis, which is still an Archadian annex. Violent riots will be breaking out in the town. Arson, looting, bloody ugly mess. People will be needed to help quell the violence before the whole town burns to the ground. Do Gooders, this is your chance to shine. For the more mercenary types, there's always money to be made from the misfortune of others, yanno?

Then, on March 20th there is a super secret terribad plot point that's going to be had. It has the potential to rock the political foundations of Ivalice to the core. We'll tell you more when it's time. Let's just say in advance, it won't be a good time to be a Dalmascan in Archades.

***

Please don't forget that the monthly check-in is also coming on the 1st and will last for one week. Be thinking about what you'll be asking for as your free gift with activity. There's still time to sneak in some activity for the month too if you've got your gift in mind.
concordancemods: (Adrammelech the Wroth)
[personal profile] concordancemods
Remember those rumors in the gossip page about disgruntled workers in Bhujerba? Well, things have finally exploded. Workers who are exceptionally angry about not receiving their pay have gone on strike and are refusing to pick up their pickaxes until the gil is forthcoming. Despite the best efforts of the Marquis' estate to assure miners that wages will be paid in full, they do not believe it. Buyers of the Lhusu Mines product are delinquent in their own payments and purchases have slowed immensely in the past few months.

There is good news on the horizon, if you don't mind breaking the picket line. And if you don't mind working for free. There is an offer out on the table for any able bodied worker willing to work despite the strike will be receiving double pay once invoices are settled. It's risky, taking on work when the normal miners aren't convinced their hard-earned gil will be coming to them, but if it does, strikebreakers stand to make bank.

Questions? Feel free to ask them here.

Tomorrow, we'll have a fresh post up for you with a brief timeline of some of the upcoming bits of plot coming down the pike. Also! Don't forget that the water in Rabanastre is still being purged of poison and there's plenty of work available helping the locals collect from the rains in Giza to drink. There's also an open post available to span the whole month's reaction to the crisis in Dalmasca.

Heya hi folks! So just popping in to let you know we had a great first time check-in. Hope everyone liked their free gift, no purchase required!

For our first month, we did great. The following characters didn't check in and have been recorded as a drop:

Quistis Trepe | [personal profile] nagyka

In addition, we've had a few new skills/spells brought in. The following items will now teach the recorded skills:

Staff of Protection teaches Blink for White Mages

Partisan teaches Cyclone for Dragoons

These will be added to the Jobs and Skills page shortly for future reference.

In addition to all this business, we've got a teensy request! If your character has signed on with a clan, or is forming one, can you drop us a note over on the Clans page? This will help us out organizing next month's territory auctions in Jylland. Thanks!

Greetings everyone! We've got a happy party post coming right up for you. (Only a few hours until it's Fete Day. We can't wait!) But just in case anyone was getting comfortable, things are going to get a little shook up.

Around midday of the 7th, some poor bloke who was hunting rats in the Waterway for his dinner came out shrieking with fright. He claims he spotted some bloated terror shuffling through and barely escaped with his life. A few minutes later, he succumbed to something poisonous. Probably those rats he was eating.

Or perhaps not.

Someone with an axe to grind with the current ruler of Dalmasca has poisoned the water supply for the city. The first signs of the taint should show in the elderly and children living in Lowtown closest to the source. Then any adults who qualify for too much of a vagabond to be admitted to the outdoor fete. For the children and elderly and anyone with a compromised immune system, there is a 80% fatality rate, with the first deaths coming in the wee hours of the morning of the 8th. Adults will show signs of sickness as well if they've been consuming the local water with a 30% fatality rate over the next few days.

tl;dr: Somebody's poisoned the water hole! (On the day of the fete. Nice, huh?)

***

Q. What does this mean for you and any party goers?
A.
- If you are in Dalmasca and consuming the water in the morning? You're fine. Anytime after the noon hour, it is entirely at your discretion if your character begins to feel ill around midnight, or if they feel any of the effects at all. You may be more hearty and hale than your next neighbor, or you may have spent the last few years building up an immunity to iocane powder. Totally up to you. For the record, any of the local water will taste off, bitter and metallic with a hint of... no you really don't wanna know. This is where it's worth noting that the downtrodden poor still living in Lowtown really don't have the luxury of spitting out bad tasting water, which is why the bulk of the illness and deaths will be here.

- For partygoers, the wine that Tomaj is serving has been watered down to help it last longer. If you've been imbibing his wine, you have potentially been exposed, though again with having the alcohol to temper the amount consumed? You may not get sick at all. If you do, that's your choice and you'll start feeling it in the morning. Probably just assume it's a nasty hangover at first. (Internal party guests have the good stuff not watered down. Now ain't that fishy that the high and mighty are the only ones being spared the suffering?) There are other baristas and culinarians who will be present at the fete with food and drinks that have not been exposed to the poisoned water. If you'd like your character to dodge the poison bullet, it's just fine for them to have passed up Tomaj's booze for someone else's.

Q. Will this impact the party?
A. Nope, everyone should eat, drink, and be merry for the duration of the fete. The first signs of something gone wrong won't start until the wee hours of the 8th. And even then, it'll start in Lowtown.

Q. Can white mages/healers/etc esuna/poisona/whatever off the poison from anyone ill?
A. Indeed they can! It's a magically induced poison rather than a physical toxin being dumped, so magicks will work to heal the sick. Antidotes and remedies will also work, however after about 3 days all supplies of both will have run out entirely.

Q. How long will the taint last?
A.It'll take around a month for the waters to be cleansed of the poison by some hard working mages, clerics and alchemists. Meanwhile, all drinking water for Rabanastre will have to be collected in buckets and barrels from the rains out on the Giza Plains. Lucky that it's the rainy season, eh?

Q. Can we go hunting through the waterway to find the bad guy who did this?
A. Well, you can, but he's long gone. Or maybe he was just the imagination of a guy on his deathbed. Poor bloke was eating rats for supper. But search away! Just... don't drink the water.

Q. Do I get something for catching both of those goofy movie references in this mod post?
A. Well, um... I hear Althea makes good candies?

Hello, everyone. You may call me Ramen, or Allen if you're feeling particularly familiar, and I'm here to drag in a guy who at some point might have qualified as a leading man in Ivalice's grand tale. But I promise Vaan isn't just here to steal the show- he's here to have a good time and be himself. And maybe steal some treasure. Maybe a lot of treasure. At least as much as Penelo will let him get away with.

He's joining you, I guess rather obviously, post-Revenant Wings and post-TA2. I admit that I'm a little more vague on the details of the latter, having not ever owned a copy or played it, but I've done my best to research it so as to most accurately reflect my character. Apologies if I get anything regarding Jylland wrong or stumble a bit with relationships established in that game. I'm also somewhat still in the middle of my own canon review of FFXII and Revenant Wings- far enough that I feel comfortable writing Vaan (cheers to his characterization getting front-loaded so that the endgame could focus on the Important People), but not far enough that I'm not without my potential trip-ups. Hopefully, y'all will be able to catch me in the act if I screw up noticeably, but I'm also hoping that won't happen much. The important part is that he's back from some wide-ranging adventuring that had him out of the picture for the last little while, and he's about to get one hell of a shock as he discovers all of these weird newcomers in his world.

I also admit I'm a little rusty at journal games in general, seeing as almost all of my RP in the past year has been through instant message or in-game FFXIV nonsense, and prior to that I was an LJ/IJ boy with very little DW experience. So I guess, erm. Bear with me on that, too? I'm sorry, this isn't making me sound particularly appealing, I know.

If you would like to contact me for whatever reason (planning, perhaps?), it's easiest to reach me via AIM (kamen mist), or to add me on plurk ([plurk.com profile] mideel), though I can also be PMed or emailed at owari.hajimari@gmail.com.

Pickle (Firion's player) here again with a second character! Braids here is a Final Fantasy XIV OC. She hasn't got much to do with the actual plot of the game, since she's not THE HERO.

(Though she is her sister. Maybe. She doesn't quite remember.)

Her app is here, for those who are curious about her. She's an animist, which basically means that she's here to speak squirrel at everyone. She's also a BAD CRIMINAL and an entertainer and has been trying her hand at writing children's books lately. Her grimoire'll look like this within the week.

TECHNICALLY her entertainment company does ember island players-esque performances of the other Final Fantasy games (I can provide scripts if people want! Those who know of Little Flopsy know the level of seriousness to expect from them), but I'm just going to ignore that detail and be super vague about it until I figure out how to manage that without fourthwalling anyone. If I can't make it work for other people, I'll just ignore it forever.

If people have questions, either about her since she is an OC and all or about XIV, feel free to ask them!

Ahhh I'm excited. OKAY, hi everyone! Elle here, bringing in Yuffie Kisaragi from Final Fantasy VII, specifically from post-Advent Children but pre-Dirge of Cerberus.

So who is Yuffie? She's a shameless thief, a burgeoning con artist, and a Valiant Hero of the Planet in equal doses, although in Ivalice she'll be taking on her original job class of Ninja. Wutai represent! I've not decided what rift monster she'll be introducing to your assembled blades and guns, but I'm leaning towards Adamantaimai for its excellent loot potential and the fact that it's native to her nation. That or Leviathan- I mean what. Suggestions welcome! Suggestions also welcome for the location of the rift.

In any case, you can reach me at Got Materia on AIM, where finally this embarrassing legacy SN comes into its own, or at [plurk.com profile] evildoers. Come at me, everyone! I look forward to RPing with you all soon.

Hey guys! Wanted to toss everyone a little bit of information about what's going on in Ivalice around them. This is above and beyond the little snippets you'll be getting later from the Rumors post coming out. More or less, we wanted to let folks know what's happening semi- behind the scenes to gossip or chat about. Or just to know things are in flux. Absolutely feel free to have your characters react or take action if they are of the sort to do so.

Dalmasca

The small desert nation of Dalmasca is curently in flux and for a tiny country is a hotbed of issues. There is ongoing concern that the queen still has not yet remarried. She needs heirs. There is rampant speculation that the upcoming fete will include an announcement of her intention to marry and to whom. Ongoing too is a growing movement who feels Queen Ashelia should and must claim the now empty throne of Nabradia, first as Prince Rasler's widow and second as the only living descendant of King Raithwall. The upcoming fete is also being met with divided response. There are those who find it disgusting that the queen plans to host and toast the Archadian Empire. The poor are far more excited for what promises to be one night of free food. There is still a large segment of the Rabanastran populace that remains displaced after the Occupation, with many not having the resources, financial or legal, to take back their pre-War homes. Thus, the streets of Lowtown and its warehouses still continue to be filled to the brim with impoverished and otherwise homeless citizens. Anti-Archadian sentiments still run high in Dalmasca, as signs of what they wrought are still in constant evidence.

Archadian Empire

Archadia is also not without its problems. The ongoing cry that the annexed territory of Nabradia should be relinquished is loud. Not from the Archadians but the people of the felled nation, and her sister kingdom of Dalmasca. The emperor seems to be stalling on issuing a reply to the issue which is causing more than one person to speculate that he intends to keep hold of the lands, a greedy power move to be certain. A few people from inner circles whisper that it's more due to concerns that the Dalmascan queen will take a husband from the Rozarrian royal family, which would give their military a foothold right at the Archadian doorstep. With the young emperor reaching his sixteenth year, there is also rampant speculation regarding his potential choices of a spouse. The general people want him married and soon, so there will be no room for quibbles over the line of succession... should something unfortunate happen to him as it has all the other males of his house. That and there are any number of influential people with daughters who would very much like to be related to the next empress. Among those are the deposed members of the Senate. There is a building sentiment that the Senate should be restored, to keep the right order of the nation on course, and to give the people a voice in their leadership. However, the emperor has yet to make any formal decision regarding the reinstatement of the politicians.

Balfonheim Port

While technically still an Archadian territory, Balfonheim has managed to retain a semblance of autonomy, as it had under Pirate King Reddas, now dead these four years. The changes he wrought in the port town are beginning to crumble. Pirates and sailors do not capable leadership make, no one wishes to take the reigns, and the riffraff and crime are slowly seeping back into the town. The status quo is starting to tilt to a status no, and if the decline continues, Archadia will be forced to step in and station a military presence to enforce the peace. It's something that won't be received well by a population who are accustomed to having free reign to do as they please.

Mt. Bur-Omisace

The sacred mountain of the Kiltias is in continued decline, one which was initiated with the raid on the temple grounds by the Archadian military four years ago. The seat of the Gran Kiltias remains empty, as none of the Kiltias are willing to put themselves forward for the position. Added to these troubles, the number of pilgrims coming with their alms has drastically declined over the years, as the number of refugees have swelled far beyond sustainable numbers. Moreso, there is one of their own who is teaching questionable doctrine that Faram alone should be worshiped. However, in light of more practical concerns, none are calling him to task.

Rozarrian Empire

Rozarria has most recently made a strange move by closing its borders to any and all. Official word announces it is a policy to enforce the peace and prevent any misunderstandings regarding territorial claims on her neighbors. However, such is most likely not the case. While the nation remains under the control of her military, with the royal family putting pressure on them to stay any aggressions, it's a well known fact that one of the royal sons has been seen oft in the company of the Dalmascan queen. Rozarria has no intentions to take land by force, but if they acquire some via marriage to the Dalmascan throne? So much the better. Despite public insistence that they do not intend to expand their territories, an offer has been sent to Dalmasca to provide a small battalion of troops to reinforce the safety of the Royal City of Rabanastre after an incident of someone blowing off the top of the Bahamut Memorial. Offers of help too have been issued to various territories in Jylland to protect against these ongoing rumors of rifts, monsters, and strangers claiming to be from other worlds.

Jylland

The Jylland area continues to remain just outside the territorial posturing of the main political powers in Ivalice, but only just. The Moogles of Goug are eagerly working on several "new projects" but they require further digging in the local mines for discarded ancient machinery. These forays demand mercenaries to stand guard while they work, and quite recently, Rozarria has made an offer to stand in as a gesture of goodwill, so valuable resources do not need to go to pay hired swords. Rumors of strangers appearing with monsters in their wake fill every pub. Every clanner seems to have a story of some terror that interrupted their hunting or some lunatic demanding to go back. It's very disruptive to business as usual and putting otherwise friendly groups on edge with each other. Rozarrian officials have been communicating in quiet with some of the clans holding territory claims in the region, offering support to their good neighbors. The reason given is to assure that no threats from Jylland crossover into the empire's borders, however most see this as a precursor to a Rozarrian invasion attempt. Heckles are up everywhere, and talk of the upcoming clan auctions is fueling rivalries even hotter than normal.

Dorstonis

Of anywhere in Ivalice, the Skycity of Bhujerba appears to be the most neutral and at peace. Appears. The Lhusu Mines are back into full production of magicite, none of which is being diverted to the Draklor Laboritory, which had been the largest purchaser some four years ago. Currently, orders are being filled for highest quality memstone to be delivered to Jylland. Some of the highest ranking clans are attempting to install Gate Crystals in their territories, although with the constant changes in control of the area, fulfilling these orders and collecting payment is proving a difficulty. Lack of payment for the product is making pay for the workers difficult, causing morale issues across the board and whispers calling for a strike. Aside from the internal issues of economy and commerce arising from the greatest export, there are no small number of people wishing the Marquis to lend his weight to removing the last remnants of Archadian operatives from the city. Despite the very small numbers remaining being only a diplomatic enjoy to ensure the continued good relations between the small city and the empire, many of the locals continue to see them as the Imperial thumb being held down over their heads... and they want them gone.

Hi there folks, it's your local mod squad bringing you the first installment of the monthly check-in. This is our version of an activity check, just to see who's still around. Before we get to the nitty gritty (ok there's not much of that), we wanted to point out just a couple of news blips while we're here.

1. There's been a slight change on the FAQ regarding characters starting out in the boonies. While rifts are rare and out in the middle of nowhere in TA2, we felt like that was creating undue difficulty getting started for characters. Your characters may now start anywhere, with the understanding that the locals aren't going to take kindly to a random person dragging a monster into the middle of the town square. We will review this again once cell phones have been reverse engineered ICly.

2. We've added a little more information about the grimoires to the Grimoires page. In particular addressing that the grimoires can and will start doing their magic if something or someone would by nature ping your character. (They might also be snoops and rat you out if you're cheating on your spouse.) Again, this is a measure to make getting started and making friends easier for everyone.

3. The moogles are currently buying outworlder tech. They'll buy anything that looks mechanical and nifty. In particular, they are really intrigued by cell phones and other like networking objects like video and comm spheres. If your character has any of these coming in, please leave a comment over here so we have a record of how many the little fluffballs have to work with. The more they have, the faster Ivalice gets a "network".

Starting next month (this first month is a freebie for you, yay!), when you check in, you will have the option to ask for one of your spells/skills/whatevers from home to be made available to learn from a piece of equipment. This first month, this is entirely free for every character who checks in and has any activity in January. (Don't worry, we'll check for you!)

So! All we need from you is one comment per character being checked in. If you're unlocking a locked skill/spell, bringing something new, or getting a new license, let us know in the comment, and which one.

Check-In will close at 12:01 a.m. Pacific on February 8th.

Hey, so, I use these fronts from the game. If anyone is interested or wants to freak Yeul out, you can download them here: http://www.dafont.com/hechicero.d3361

I have the Grace of Etro, Cocoon and Pulsian. I know that they get auto-translated anyway, but if someone wanted to be clever, lol.

Hide yo daughters, hide yo wife....

Okay maybe not quite that bad. But 'tis Althea, breaking up the streak of nice do-gooders with a laid-back, devil-may-care, punk of an Al Bhed... also known as Gippal from the terrible sequel Final Fantasy X-2.

For anyone who's not familiar with him, he's sometimes a flirt, always a troll. Runs a machine making group out of the old Djose Temple. (Maester Mika must be rolling over on the Farplane.) Only thing he likes better than getting his hands on a mechanical project is getting under someone's skin.

Once he's all settled in and over his "what the-?!" at books that write in themselves, he'll be scooting over to Goug to work on things with the moogles. Is it broke? He can probably fix it. Even the stuff he's been working on for months that the Gullwings bust up on a lark. (Lookin' at you, Rikku.) Meanwhile, I need to find a spot to dump him off with an aggressive black sheep trying to take him out. Because I am a troll like that.

Oh and if your character knows anything about anything mechanical? This is their new best friend.

Heya folks! Just a quick reminder that the end of the month is fast approaching and we've got some opportunities still unclaimed. In case you missed out the original postings, we've got lots of hunts and work and things to buy over at the commerce community.

Hunts
Work
Bazaar
Fur Shop
Auctions (Plumfrost auctions close in 4 days.)

What hunts get fulfilled (and presumably having their loot sold to the bazaar) will directly impact what goods and items show up for purchase in next month's bazaar. If anyone's interested in picking up one of the jobs, leave a comment on the page and we'll be replying to you with what the final payout is when the task is done. Some are more lucrative than others, but there might be rare loot involved too.

A little trading that's not on list: The moogles are very interested in acquiring new technology. It's not hard to find one of the little guys waddling around with a wrench in hand and goggles on his head. Those tinkering sorts are the ones you'll want to chat up. Especially if you have something akin to a cellphone on your person. Depending on the moogle, they'll be paying topgil to take your phone off your hands for research. Anywhere from 20-50K in gil for one measly non-functioning phone. If you're planning on selling your cell, give us a ping here so we can track how many the moogles are getting to work with. The more they get, the faster they can backwards engineer more. Linkpearls from Vana'diel and Eorzea, and video spheres from Spira are also wanted for similar purposes, though they will pay out at the lower end of the scale.

Hey hi everyone! Wanted to drop you a little advanced notice of something fun coming soon to a rp near you.

The anniversary of the end of the war is coming up next month. To mark the occasion, and as a sign of solidarity between Rozzaria, Dalmasca and Archadia, Queen Ashe is hosting a public fête. On the honored guests list is included the young Emperor Larsa, Prince Al-Cid Margrace, and Marquis Halim Ondore IV. It's a star-studded event that no one should miss!

In particular, the main fête will be held just outside the gates of royal palace in Rabanastre. There will be music, entertainment and grand banquet tables, with an open invitation to everyone that's in the area to attend. The queen and her guests will be putting in a nominal appearance to the mass crowds that are expected to attend. Rest assured though, the guards will be doubled, tripled even, to ensure the safety and protection of the royal residence.

A smaller secondary party will be held within for the close friends and acquaintances of the royals in attendance. People probably will hear that it's going on and likely speculating about how much politicking is going on behind closed doors. Rampant speculation in the streets too that the queen is finally making up her mind about a second marriage. (And it's about time!) Whatever's going on inside the palace while the party is on outside isn't just fodder for streetears and gossips. It'll have a lasting effect that will start to show up in March.

So! Everyone get your party shoes on and be ready to join the crowds. Feel free to speculate amongst yourselves ICly before, during, and after the big celebration. The fête will be held on February 7th.

Everyone is welcome to use this post to make plans and plots.

My name is Dandylion, I play Paddra Nsu-Yeul from the end of her canon. She is a strange character and she comes in the former of many personalities types, but I chose her "original" form as the one that leads the pack. She is very strange and I put her around the age rand of 18ish, but she'll never be a full adult obviously.

She usually comes across as creepy to many people, even if I am not creepy, lol. I can be bothered on AIM @ paddras and I am usually easy to find on there. I don't have a plurk that I use often enough to make a dent in society, lol. Anyways, I'd love to plot or creep out many of your characters as much as I can.

Also, she will probably find herself latching onto someone who fits in the role of 'body guard' at some point :D!~
